Dr. Michael Prejean

Medical Director
 

Dr. Michael Prejean Sr, MD is a Psychiatry Specialist in Lafayette, LA and has over 52 years of experience in the medical field. Dr. Prejean Sr has extensive experience in Psychotic Disorders and Addiction,   Substance Abuse, and Internal Medicine. He graduated from LOUISIANA STATE UNIVERSITY / SCHOOL OF MEDICINE IN NEW ORLEANS in 1971.
 

Madeline Jackson

Madeline Jackson is a Certified Addictions Counselor who holds a bachelor’s degrees in both Psychology and Criminology from Auburn University. She has specialized experience treating chemical addiction, PTSD, depression, moral injury, anxiety, and other co-occurring disorders related to military service and combat, as well as other lifetime experiences that prevent holistic growth.  Madeline’s main concern is creating a sacred space to allow the healing process to occur at deeper levels to  restore dignity and enhance the quality of life for the veterans.

Colonel Strickland served 30 years active duty in the U.S. Army, including two tours of combat

duty in Vietnam. He joined the Army in 1966 as an enlisted Airborne Infantryman.  During his time in the Army, he was awarded the Legion of Merit, Meritorious Service Medal with 4 Bronze Oak Leaf Clusters, Army Commendation Medal (2nd award), Ari Medal (4 award), Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal, Vietnam Service Medal with 7 battle stars, Airborne Medal, enlisted aviation wings and overseas Ribbon, among others.

 

His professional career includes:

Military Officer, US Army, 1966-1994

State Director of Louisiana Troops to Teachers, 1995-1998

State Director of Louisiana Indian Affairs, 1995-2008

State Director, Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, 1998-2004

Deputy Secretary, Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, 2004-2008

Secretary, Arizona Department of Veterans Affairs, 2008-2013

Secretary, Louisiana Department of Veterans Affairs, 2016-2024

 

Colonel Strickland has aBachelor's Degree, Political Science and Foreign Language, Hampton

University, a Master's Degree, Counselor Education-Psychology, Auburn University, 1981, and a

Certificate (diploma) from Air Force Command and General Staff College

(equivalent to Master's Degree) in Aero Space Studies, 1988

Steve May, CEO 


Steve is a Baton Rouge native and practicing CPA.  He received his BS in Accounting from Louisiana State University and in 1986, founded his accounting practice.  Steve has provided extensive services performed over the past 25 years specializing in the area of long-term care and psychiatric services.  He has negotiated several multi-million dollar sales since 1995.

Steve is the founding member of MSM Management, LLC.

​

Over the past 25 years, Steve has founded and co-founded multiple healthcare management companies.  In 2008, he negotiated the purchase of Sunrise Healthcare Management and  functioned as their CFO/co-owner until 2017.  In 2018 he assumed the CEO/co-owner position for Sunrise Healthcare Management.

Jimmy Morgan, COO

 

Jimmy Morgan grew up in Camden, Arkansas and currently lives in New Iberia, Louisiana.  He attended Centenary College in Shreveport, Louisiana where he graduated with a B.A. in Sociology in 1979. In 1983 Jimmy attended University of Texas at Arlington were he earned 21 hours towards a Masters in Urban and Regional Affairs.

In 2018, Jimmy assembled a partnership to form Recon Healthcare, LLC, a management company specializing in veterans behavioral healthcare.

 

In the past 35 years Jimmy has opened and operated 18 hospitals allowing him to become a specialist in new hospital start-up, health care management and regulatory compliance.

Jason Branson, CCO, Administrator


Jason has over 27 years in the healthcare, serving in executive positions including CEO, Dir of Nurses, Risk Management, and Quality.  He grew up on the Mississippi Gulf Coast and received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Southern Mississippi and went on to obtain a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Belhaven College. Jason Served as a commissioned officer in the Army National Guard from 1992-2001.

In 2018, Jason partnered with the team to help form Recon Healthcare, LLC

​

In the past 27 years, Jason has Successfully launched the opening of 7 specialty hospitals (Psychiatric, LTACH, IRF, and Residential). His specialties include plant development, policy and procedure establishment, staff recruitment and training, as well as all CMS and Joint Commission survey preparation and execution

Tony Miller, VP VA Relations

Tony Miller is a lifelong resident of Evangeline Parish and Ville Platte Louisiana. He obtained his LPN Nursing degree in 1994.  Tony entered the behavioral health field in 2006. He has training in REBT and since 2011 has devoted his career to providing treatment for both active-duty service members of the five branches of the US military and for Veterans of all ages and conflicts.  Miller states "Having a son who served/deployed in both Iraq and Afghanistan, I understand the real concerns and issues that face our Heroes. My dedication is built around caring for them with the same level of dedication and effort they gave to us here at home". In 2018 Tony joined a partnership to form RECON Healthcare LLC, a management company specializing in Active duty and Veterans behavioral healthcare.  Tony has been involved in opening up 4 inpatient/residential treatment facilities for active- duty service members and Veterans suffering from PTSD, substance addiction/abuse as well as other service- related mental health injuries.

Kemper Bowen, VP Business Development

Kemper is a Lafayette native and has 34 years of Healthcare Sales and Marketing experience that include Durable Medical Equipment, Medical Services in both inpatient and outpatient hospital settings, and specialty disease state services sales and sales management. He has numerous start up healthcare ventures and marketing and sales support for existing healthcare ventures in diabetes, wound care services, infusion therapy, inpatient physical rehabilitation and LTACH as well as inpatient mental health for Veterans.

​

Kemper is a Member/Partner in RECON Healthcare LLC and Patriot Rehab Services providing management and billing program services for Veterans residential level of care.  He has a BA in Business Administration from University of Southwestern Louisiana (Now ULL at Lafayette) Class of 1986. He is a member of numerous boards including Goodwill of Acadiana and the Acadiana Healthcare Coalition.
